What I really want to know is can anyone recommend a PCMCIA WLAN card which works "out of the box" with FC5? I have a USR 5410 card which doesn't work with FC5 - unless someone can tell me different (and in fairly simple language!!).

UK readers please include name of vendor and approx price pls!!! :D :D :D

TIA

US Robotics refers to Linuxant for driver support (you should ask them for real drivers). Apparantly it's possible to use the Windows drivers using DriverLoader (found on Linuxant) - my guess is: it's also possible to use ndiswrapper.

I find it quite odd that Linuxant claims to be compatible with chipsets that have native drivers... Maybe they think there are problems with the native drivers.

im using a netgear wg511t card with the madwifi driver, works great. i think all the netgear cards works. as long as you find the little atheros logo on the back of the box anyways

i have to say - i would go to your local PC World store - browse the shelves for any with a linux compatible statement or a penguin logo... then exit doors front and go to a "decent" retailer or online to ccl-online.com or scan.com (both UK based) and search for the located products. Money savings to be had too :)
