Ok here is my problem been using linux off and on since 2002 and watched it developed. Gotten away from it for a long time but returned when I kept hearing great reviews of FC5. Loaded it on my labtop everything working except my wireless card. Its a linksys PCMCIA WPC11 ver3. I use to have this card working in Debian and had it working in Mandrake 9 so for Fedora core 5 not able to configure I just cant believe it. The card shows in network gui with driver but its inactive but whenever I try to activate it I get the error

Determining IP information wifi0...failed

All my settings are right only running 128 wep right now with ssid visible trying to get it to work.

Just did a clean install of FC5 right now and running off my sisters wireless netowrk so dont have acess to internet on labtop without wirelss.

Any help would be much appreciate to get it to work. I really hate to take FC5 off now and wait to FC6 comes out. The network config should be much better along than this.

I thank anyone with there help getting frustrated now

Do a search for linksys and ndiswrapper on this forum, it's been answered about a dozen times, but if you don't know the magic search terms it can be hard to find. You'll need to download the windows drivers.

Lorenzo: Wireless drivers are a cast iron bytch. I went through the same thing you are-- not with that card though-- and ended up getting a $30 Netgear. If you get a new wireless card, though, make sure it's the right kind.
