All,
I have installed FC5 from the isos on a machine that was running FC3 with a linksys WMP54G. The wireless setup worked great on FC3. but now I can get the card working using the ndiswrapper instructions like before but when I open firefox and try to browse the machine freezes (usually while trying to load a web page) and I can't do anything but whack it in the knees with a hard reset. The machine only freezes when I start browsing it doesn't happen when the wireless card is enabled just sitting there.
Being a newbie I really do not know where to look to find the root of the problem. One thing that does look strange is these lines in the message file under /var/log.
DRI on Radeon R300+ Use 'allow_r300=1' module option to override
DRM: Fill_in_dev failed
Could I be having a problem with my video card (ATI Radeon 9500 pro).
The kernel version is 2.6.16-1.2111_FC5.stk16
Any help is greatly appreciated.
