Im sure im not the first to ask this question but i cant find the answer anywhere. I am going to switch to f5 tomorrow on my laptop, no dual boot just f5 (i have never used any type of linux only windows) i have a home pc that i will be keeping windows on and i want to share an internet connection between the two. I have a linksys router and a d-link dwl650+ wireless card. First of all is this possible, second of all will f5 automatically recognize my card or will i have to install a driver and if so please give me detailed instructions how to or a website that will tell me. i have no idea what im doing or how to use the terminal, but im going to switch. I will learn but i need some help to get started, inst this the whole premise behind open sourse anyways?

Hi. I also have a Linksys router and D-Link card. The website that should help you with that card is madwifi.org. It has plenty of info, but I'm still having problems getting mine set up. I had it working last weekend, but now I can't get it to work again. I think I will be able to get it to work eventually, but it's frustrating.

You need to install madwifi through yum using the livna repositories. http://stanton-finley.net/fedora_core_5_installation_notes.html Go there and you will actually want to look at the Nvidia and ATI section becuase it will tell you how to set up the livna repository. You should then use the command: yum --enablerepo livna install madwifi

That will install madwifi through yum and take care of all the dependences for you. After madwifi is installed you then go to /System/Administration/Network and making sure the "devices" tab is selected then click on "NEW" and select wireless connetion. Once you click that you should see a window pop up and your d-link card listed, just follow the rest of the wizard to guide you through and you should be good to go.

Did you just upgrade to the 2133 kernel? When I went fro 2122 to 2133, my madwifi broke.
