During the process for installing a wireless lan adapter on my toshiba satellite 2405 205s using FEDORA CORE 4, everything works fine but the NETWORK MANAGEMRNT GUI tool just only recognize lan adapter with the naming convectio of eth%d (eth0, eth1.......).
I the following lines are the result of running the ndiswrapper command:

[root@director1 ~]# ndiswrapper -l
Installed drivers:
lsbcmnds driver installed, hardware present
net8180 driver installed
[root@director1 ~]# ifup eth1
/sbin/ifup: configuration for eth1 not found.
Usage: ifup <device name>
[root@director1 ~]# iwconfig
lo no wireless extensions.

eth0 no wireless extensions.

sit0 no wireless extensions.

I already modified the modprobe.conf to force the naming change from wlan0 to eth1 but I got no success.

I will appreciate any suggestion or comment to resolve the issue.

I managed to do the modification. Few changes in /etc/sysconfig.
