I'm in a house where there are 2 seperate lans, each has thier own internet connection running through a consumer grade router, and a couple pc's each.

The question is - if I put 2 nic's in my FC5 server, can I have it on both networks at once?
I want the PC's on each lan to have access to thier "home" folders through samba (which i already have set up and working for the original lan). There doesnt have to be any internet connection sharing as the net is already taken care of within thier own LAN.

Many thanks for your time,
Mike

yes you can configure your server fc5 with 2 nics... just configure one NIC card for one network/LAN and another NIC card for another netwrok/LAN..and configure samba accordingly.. it will work fine..

but be sure to not allow ip_forwarding unless realy wanted....otherwise you'll act as a router between the two lan's....

the rest works fine, like Nirav wrote above.

Cool, Thanks.

i guess the last question would be - is there a way to get the box to use one connection before another for its own internet access? This server box also runs my webserver so It's important that I keep it on the faster of the two connections.

Thanks,
Mike
