Hey all,

Sorry to bother you if this is a stupid question. I've been using Windows all my life and know it inside and out. I've been trying to learn more about linux so i now have installed Fedora Core 5 on my laptop as the only OS. Everything seems nice and seems to be working great. Except it doesn't seem like name resolution is working well when I'm connected to the network via wireless.

The laptop is a Dell 600m with intels centrino setup. I've setup the Network Manager which seems to be working great and the wireless card is a Intel PRO/Wireless 2915ABG. I had to download the firmware files for the wireless card to work.

If I'm connected over wired or wireless the internet works fine. But if I try to ping or rdesktop to a server on the same network over wireless it cannot resolve the IP, if I ping or rdesktop by IP it works fine.

When I try to do a nslookup over wireless I get a SERVFAIL with #53 after the address. Is there a firewall somewhere in FC5 that has different settings for wired than wireless? By default would it be blocking port 53 (DNS) over wireless?

Thanks for your help!
Jon
