I have recently replaced a failing Speedtouch 510 router with a Speedtouch 546 router. Before the change, my windows PC's and my Linux PC (fedora 5) all conected to the internet. After changeing the router, my Linux PC will no longer connect to the internet. I can see it on my LAN, I can ping it and ping the other PC's from it, but no internet connection.
Any solutions welcome, with clear instructions for a Linux novice.

Read the manual that came with the router. Perhaps you need to change some setting in the router itself to allow your Linux box to access the 'net'. In the manual will be directions on how to access the control panel and what you need to do to allow internet access, port forwarding, port blocking, enabling or disabling NAT.
Post back and let us know if this helped at all.

If you've double checked to make sure all the settings are the same as the old router, pull the power on your cable/dsl modem and the router. Wait a few seconds and plug the cable/dsl modem in then a sec or two later plug the router in. Also logon to the router and make sure it is receiving the DHCP info from the cable modem.

Problem solved. I somehow had 2 IP addresses set up for my router. I removed the incorrect one and hey presto!, all is well with the world again.
Thanks for the replies.
