statd failing on shutdown

Periodically, statd fails during shutdown on my FC6 machine. This sounds a lot like the problem with FC5 as discussed in 'How to setup NFS shares in FC5' How-To-Article. Maybe portmap is playing games here too. I was hoping it would be fixed for FC6. Guess not.

However it only falls over when i try to use tls with ldap. Then i get a whole host of problems.

Have you tried with the older kernel? because, it seems to be a failure on kernel settings...
