Okay, i just got a nice router from radioshack, and i get home to reaise that it says it requires M$ IE or netgear to access the thing. Can this be done in FF or Konqurer or do i needa get a new router? Im running FC5.

Try using the user agent switcher extension for firefox (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/59/). It will make the router think that you're using ie.

You mean you can't just type http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 to get in? Or am I not understanding the concept here?

I have a netgear DG834v2 and it works perfecty: the web interface isn't OS dependent, so typing the router IP address in the browser (Firefox, for me) it's fine.
BTW, Netgear routers are linux-based - they use a 2.4 kernel, iptables, etc.
