View Full Version : Ethernet controller not found, fc6 Mesh

I have finally got fc6 running in dual boot mode, by changing the hard disk priority in the bios. No problem as it will be mainly fc6.
But the network config tool says the device is not present.
According to lspci (and XP) it is a Attansic Technology Corp L1 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter.
How do I get FC6 to recognise the device (at present it thinks it is a 3Com 3c501) and get it working.

Any clue how to start would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks Nick. Looks abit hairy. I might buy a ubs wireless adapter instead, time is of the essence right now. Any clues as to which usb would be a good idea.

Thanks again

Mike

Hi Nick
Thanks for the reply. I remembered after sending this I had a defunct computer which turned out to have a Linksys LNE100 TX card in it.

This worked first time in both XP and Fedora 6.

A couple of us who own an L1-equipped mainboard have been hacking the driver to get it included in the mainline kernel. (We're responsible for the atl1 project at Sourceforge.) We've gone through two submit/review cycles on the kernel mail list, so we're close... We're down to one last problem. Hopefully we'll see it in the 2.6.21 kernel.

What is the "last problem"?

I don't remember now. That was over a month ago.

The driver was accepted into the mainline kernel 7 Feb 2007.

So if I download the 2.6.20-git8 and build it I should have the problem solved?

Yes. What type motherboard do you have?
