got fedora core6. Also, got USB wlan. i do "modprobe zd1211rw". But how do i create wlan0 (interface), etc. i am lost. need to connect using my usb wlan.

I found that the firmware was missing so I went to: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=129083
and downloaded the firmware package and put it in /lib/firmware/zd1211.

I then pulled out the adapter plugged it in and the firmware loaded successfully.

After a bit of fiddling I was able to get a WEP connect to my local wireless network using the Sysyem>Administration>Network GUI ans set up eth1 with a generic 3Com wireless.
