Hello everyone, I have an HP DV5000 laptop with a BCM4318 wireless chipset. Linux recognized and installed a driver for it and it says that all is funtioning well. I enabled NetworkMonitor but it will not connect to my wireless network. What am I doing wrong? Will I need to update the driver, or use ndiswrapper in order to get it to work? Thanks, Nick

There are a couple of useful threads here and in the How-Tos. Search for BCM43xx and you'll find people that have it working under ndiswrapper or with fw-cutter.

Thank you, I did the fw-cutter one and it works great. One quick question, it says that I am only running at 11mb/s when its a g card and router. Any idea? Thanks again, Nick

i believe fw cutter will only work at 11mb/s. if you need more than that, you'll have to run ndiswrapper.
