I am having problems connecting to a network. I'm using my computer, which connects with no problems to the network at home, where I use a static IP. Here, the computer will connect to the network and the internet if I boot into WinXP, but not if I boot into Fedora. I've made sure to set the network to use a dynamic IP (using dhcp). It seems to be getting an IP: when I type #ifconfig eth0 I see that the network adaptor is set to an IP in the range of the other computers. However, if I try to ping any other computer or connect to a website, it says they cannot be reached.

Is this a firewall problem, somehow? I don't remember having to change any firewall settings at home before using the network.

Home statically assigned IP: 192.168.0.118 /24
Here dynamically assigned IP: 192.168.1.32 /24

What do I need to do to be able to connect to the network? I'm willing to give more information if you specify what information is needed.

what is in your resolv.conf?

cat /etc/resolv.conf

when you get a dhcp address try

/sbin/route -n

post the output of those.

Okay. I'll post the output of those next time I have access to that network, on February 4th.
