hello, i just installed fedora core 6 last night. im using a sony vaio laptop and installed the firmware for the wireless card. im trying to get kwifimanager to find my router, it picks up random ones except mine. it has yet to actually find router, which i know is working since my psp can connect to it. does anyone have an idea on how to get this working?

im using kdm 3.5.4 and set up to only connect to 104 Georgia (my routers "name")

im now posting this from my laptop but using the wired port of the wireless router im trying to connect to. this is weird but then again all i really know about linux is what the navy has taught me (and thats on running a linux server)

what is the card in the vaio and is it set to 802.11b or 802.11b/g?
what is the router and is it configured for 802.11b or 802.11b/g and which channel is it set to?
did you set the SSID in the router to be invisible?

i forgot to check the modes. the router isnt invisible since my psp can see it, the laptop used to and a shipmates laptop can see it. im going to check the config and channels when i get back from class and tell you if that works
