setup internet connection with password?

i have installed FC6 but i can't find a way to connect to my internet account that requires a username and password, how can i start the connection? keep in mind that i am new to Linux.

sorry, could you give us more details, e.g. how do you connect and what internet account? any keywords please! :)
firefox? PPPoE? email-account? dsl-provider account? ETC...
