is an encrypted connection possible?

I was wondering, when using wireless, anyone on the wireless network who can capture packets can see what i'm browsing, and also my login name if the site doesn't support https. is there a way to always send info to the router in an encrypted form like https?

WPA & WEP use encryption, but it's relatively weak. An alternative is to setup an IPSEC sessio n to a wired system and onnect from there. Alternatively you can SSH to a wired system and out from there.

Or vpn using pptp or openvpn to your wilreless router, if the router supports it....
