I just got my new wireless card, and ipw2915. it works fine for the most part, except periodically the signal strength suddenly drops to 0%. Its literally an instantaneous change. 80% one moment, then 0 without any sign of moving from one to the other. Usually it jumps back up just as fast, but occasionally it stays low long enough that the card has to disconnect and reconnect.

Uisng NetworkManager on FC6. Connected to a WPA2-PSK access point

Your getting firmware restart errors. Are you using the built-in ipw2200 drivers and ieee80211 modules or have you compiled your own?? What firmware version are you using and how was it installed??

I used the livna firmware package with the modules that came with the default fedora kernel.

Not sure if it will help but remove the firmware with yum, then go here and download the 3.0 version of the firmware. Unarchive it and manually copy the files into the /lib/firmware directory.

Is this a home based router??? And do you have access to the configuration menu of the router, If you do try configuring the router to broadcast the SSID and see if that helps.

I don't have access to the configuration. I believe it is set to broadcast ssid though.
