hi all:
I am having a problem that is driving me crazy. I installed Fedora 7 Moonshine RC2 on my ACER 5050 laptop featuring WLAN from (godforsaken)Broadcom BCMWL5.

I used ndiswrapper to extract the driver and successfully installed it and now i can see the available wireless networks around me.

However, i was not able to connect to any wireless network either encrypted or plain. I can see the wireless led working. I do not know why the card does not connect.

PLEASE HELP

thx

What are you trying to do to connect?

What are you trying to do to connect?

from the NetworkManageer tray icon i keft click then i select one of the netwokr shown for instance open 3com now i can see the network tray shown connecting. However, after a few seconds either show connection failed or fail back to the wired connection if available.

If there IS a wired connection, networkmanager WILL prefer it over wireless. Unplug or disable the wired connection. If it still doesn't connect, probably bad signal. Either way, sounds like its *probably* working.
