Mhelios made me think of this:

If you ever have another distro or FC test release bork your grub install so that you can't get back to your safety regular install then simply:
boot off your FC1 (or 2) CD
type in 'linux rescue' at the prompt,
answer the questions about keyboard and language
Tell the rescue mode to use your proper partition to mount (the one that you want to get booted into)
when you come to the console prompt: chroot /mnt/sysimage
edit your /etc/grub.conf file if necessary using vim (this wasn't needed for me)
finally run /sbin/grub-install [device] where [device] is the hardrive with your MBR (or the partition where you have grub installed too.
now make sure there are no error messages and you should be homefree after you reboot and boot up into your fresh grub loader. :)

Nice information, Bana. I could have used this a few days ago when the same things happened to me when installing -test1 alongside FC1!

Oh well, I figured it out..
