I want to use wifi-radar or wpa gui instead of Network Manager.
in wifi-radar I can see the router, but cant connect to it.
in wpa gui i have no clue what to do, it just keeps printing ping failed trying to reconnect in the terminal.

so, without using network manager, how do i connect my wireless network card? it is an atheros card (ath0)

I have used "wireless assistant" on two of my F8T2 installs. I first had to "system-config-services" and stopped NetworkManager, NetworkManager Dispatch and wpa_supplicant and then was able to connect.
