I installed samba - yum install samba

and I installed the system config - yum install system-config-samba

When I try to go to server setting it won't let me load in any server settings. Also, if I set up all the rest like users and home directories it won't save those settings. Am I not downloading something I need to or should I just create the config file manually. This is my first time playing with Samba and I don't know what is up. I appreciate your help.

Hello:
I don't use Samba, however, have you read through Firewing1's how-to, perhaps you missed a step or two ?

Yeah,
I was using that and an article in technopedia to has my documentation to follow. Everything is installed I just can't get server settings inside system-config-samba to work. And I also can't get system-config-samba to save anything that I can do. I don't have the slightest idea where to start trouble shooting this thing. Or if I just write the config manually what I need to be aware of. There are a lot of options in writing that config.

Similar problem here. Gnome applet does not set all settings correctly in /etc/samba/smb.conf; I had to set nmb and smb to start in runlevel 3-5 in service configuration and change smb.conf manually with 'service smb restart' afterwards.
