Network configuration

so here is my trouble, i finely got fedora 7 to see my wireless card in the network configuration box, and the network manager and knetworkmanager both see my wireless network and my neighbors wireless network yet i can't connect to either of them.

I have entered the wep key right for my wireless router. and my neighbors does not use security. Aslo my network configuration window says that my wlan0 is inactive and i can't make it active.

rt61 card and a 2wire at&t wireless router,

some one told me that my wireless card should be recognized as etho0 for it to work instead of wlan0 is this true??
