This is getting tiring... IPW2200 was working fine, now it's not. Don't know what killed it. Since I know what I'm going to be asked, yes, I have the firmware installed. Yes, I've tried the most recent firmware and the regular stock firmware (the stuff from the repos). Yes, NetworkManager is running, and is set to start on boot in all runlevels.
I can scan for networks with iwlist eth1 scan. I can associate an essid and key with iwconfig eth1 blah blah blah, but I can't get a MAC address associated (which is weird because I can see MACs with iwlist).
The interface appears in all other respects to be up but... on running ifup eth1 I get:
[root@alice ~]# ifup eth1
Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) :
SET failed on device eth1 ; Invalid argument.
Determining IP information for eth1... failed; no link present. Check cable?
