Anyone got any hard set instructions on getting Wifi up besides the Fwcutter? I just did a fresh install (5th time) and now I'd like to just use Ndiswrapper.. It yielded me 54mbps, fwcutter only gave me 1mbps.. So far all that I found online for Ndiswrapper is for FC7 and below..

Thanks!

Hello StormChaser

There is a guide to ndiswrapper here:

http://www.fedoraguide.info/index.php/Fedora8

However, before you abandon the fwcutter method using the built in b43 drivers, you might want to try some speed tests.

I'm using this driver on my laptop and it usually connects at 1mbs, but if I do a file transfer across the network then the connection speed ramps up within seconds to 48mbs. As I'm 20ft/6m away from the access point and not getting full signal strength I'm quite happy with that.

Incidentally, it seems to be the reverse of the normal wireless experience where the cards connect at a high speed and then slow down if errors start to accumulate during transmission.

the methods for ndiswrapper in fedora 8 will be the same.... though I can tell you that NetworkManager sucks in F8
