Hello,

I'm having a lot of problem to start this wireless. Also WPA2...

I downloaded the driver from ATrpms, started Network Manager

Downloaded wpa supplicant and no luck so far.
Added the key in system-config-network in wireless settings.. and the SSID.

It doesn't ask for key but activation displays:

Determining IP information for wlan0... failed.

Any clues how to get this working?

Also eth0 produces a strange error:

Determining IP information for eth0...dhclient(30438) is already running - exiting.
This version of ISC DHCP is based on the release available
on ftp.isc.org. Features have been added and other changes
have been made to the base software release in order to make
it work better with this distribution.
Please report for this software via the Red Hat Bugzilla site:
http://bugzilla.redhat.com

Edit:

Discovered WPA supplicant might be the issue:

service wpa_supplicant start
Starting wpa_supplicant: /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf, , dbus_bus_request_name[dbus]: Resource temporarily unavailable
Failed to initialize wpa_supplicant
[FAILED]

Any suggestion is really appreciated!

EDIT:

I have to admit this is strange! I got it working by removing WPA2 and then checking in Network manager I fould my wireless listed twice once with free access and once with security enabled.

Then I turned on WPA2 from the router and it just worked selecting the security enabled net.
Despite I entered the key in system-config-network network manager asked for the key again

Seems wpa_supplicant is not even needed?

have you gotten the driver?

look in /etc/firmware

Hi,

If you have a look at my first sentence it's obvious I used another source for the driver - ATrpms, on the other hand your link to Intel site might be interesting but it's broken.

I find it very weird that WPA2 doesn't work out of the box, I had to dig for some old crossed cables to get my fedora on the net...

In general I had to remove from system-config-network everything and use only Network Manager or wireless assitant. If I start it from system-config it displays DHCP failed... normal when it doesn't ask for the key how can it get IP in the first place.

The whole process is not straight forward!
