Hi,
I just turned to Fedora Core, I used Debian & OpenSuse before, but they were not excellent and stable as Fedora.
I installed pptpconfig on FC8, I created a connection by it's interface , but when I hit the start button, after seconds I get this error message :

Using interface ppp0
pptpconfig: monitoring interface ppp0
Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/pts/4
LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests
Connection terminated.
Modem hangup
pptpconfig: pppd process terminated by signal 16 (failed)
pptpconfig: SIGUSR1

I gotta I'm using wlan0 interface for internet connection.
How can I solve this problem?

Are you connecting to a Windows VPN, a Cisco VPN or what? They all require different protocals as I painfully found out.

Go into the PPTPCONGIF utility and hit the MISCELANEOUS tab. There are two boxes to make changes to PPPD and PPTP. In the PPPD tab, put in the value 'noauth' and save. This may be your problem.

Sorry to hear that. I'm on a LAN with a permanent connection to the internet thru cable/router. I've never done dial-up with PPTP.

The only other thing I can think of is the ENCRYPTION setting. For a Windows VPN, MPPE usually must be checked. Make sure you leave the 'noauth' on PPPD - mine won't work unless it's set.
