I was introduced to Frozen Bubble on another distro. I'm not a gamer by nature. And I'm sure the hard core gamers don't consider Frozen Bubble worthy of their consideration. But I love the game. Is there a version for FC2? Has anyone loaded on to their machine? And if so, any problems with it? Thanks.

well, you can get it from freshrpms:
http://tettnang.freshrpms.net/rpm.html?id=420

works fine here, although it's quite boring that the game doesn't become more difficult when arriving higher level ...

have fun

Shtik, downloaded the rpm but it wouldn't install. Dependency issues. perl(SDL) missing. Did a SDL and a perl Yum search. Several returns for both. Any ideal what I will need to install Frozen Bubble? By the way, thanks for the link on the game.

All dependencies for a repository should be able to be resolved either from the repository itself and/or the install disks.

This crazy little game is addictive, isn't it? I hunted around for it for a long time, too...

The easiest way I found to install FB is to refresh Synaptic and look for it under Amusements/Games. This will take care of the dependencies, etc. This will will work IF freshrpms.net is in your sources list

:o

Now, if I could only find Gnometris... :D

The relevant yum.conf entry is [freshrpms]
name=Fedora Linux $releasever - $basearch - freshrpms
baseurl=http://ayo.freshrpms.net/fedora/linux/$releasever/$basearch/freshrpms and the apt one is rpm http://ayo.freshrpms.net fedora/linux/2/i386 freshrpms
Then yum install frozen-bubble or apt-get install frozen-bubble
Frozen Bubble is great!

For those of you that think the levels don't get harder, have you finished all 100? Hmm?

Must ... stop ... mouse ... from ... launching ... FB ...

I've completed frozen bubble. :D And yes it was in one sitting of about 3 hours, and yes I was very bored. I just wish there was more levels, I'm no good at designing my own.

Indeed it does. If you want a sneak peek then open a console and type:frozen-bubble -l 100

(Edit by Jman: it is frozen-bubble. Ug should know better.)

That damn game almost gave me Carpal Tunnel - I stopped when I hit 60-something. And I agree with Ug, on both counts, but I hope they really don't do that: I'd have to start playing it again! :(

It's Good fun I play it with my  Morphix  live CD. But then again  Morphix  was my first taster of Linux. I didn't ever get to the last level but I had good fun trying. :D
