I am running Fedora Core 5 and have in the past been successful at accessing shared folders and printers on our network running windows XP. This was using samba (Version 3.0.24-7.fc5)
I have not used the linux OS in a while and after recently booting up I noticed I could only access some of the XP machines but not the machine linked to the printer. Opening a server normally prompts you for a password and user name. However, when attempting to access the PC in question I get the following error:
"The folder contents could not be displayed.
Sorry, couldn't display all the contents of "Windows Network: visitor3".
Only briefly was I prompted to enter a password, but this never returned and the problem above remains.
As far I know, nothing has changed in regards to network configurations or privileges. The XP machines can talk fine and the IP configurations are similar. Extensive google searching on this problem has not helped. Changing the firewall settings has not helped either.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Leon.
