i have a router connected to internet. my pc uses this router for internet.
router also supports wireless.
i use the same router for internet for my laptop for connection to the internet.

so, is there a way to share files between my pc and laptop via the wireless router?

Just set up a local area network (LAN). I doubt your system will care whether it is wired or not.

ok. u were right. my problem had more to do with samba.

but i still have problems.
1. my workgroup was named mygroup, in windows it was MYGROUP. windows does not allow lowercase, samba does not allow uppercase. is that any reason of not being able to get network shares.

2. if it not, why is it that the windows pc can now see samba shares on my linux laptop, but i cannot see windows shares on my linux. actually, the shares showed up once, but it did not allow me access to thee directories. gave a message "the target directory may not exist"
