Just installed FC2 onto my 2nd pc. It`s a AMD64 3000.
Now i really got a problem with installing the ATI Driver.
Seems it`s only for 32Bit systems?
i tried the tutorial from fedorafaq.org/#radeon
But i fail.
i just get errors and warnings.
Now my question: is it possible to run 3d acceleration in FC x86_64 with Radeon 9800Pro ?
Or is it just impossible??
Thx in advance.
and.. sry about my bad english

NO. The radeon drivers is only for 32 bit systems. On the x86_64 systems, you will not get 3D hardware acceleration on anythin higher than a Radeon 9200. You do however get 2D acceleration with the standard radeon driver that ships with xorg.
Wait till ATI releases the 64 bit driver, or just go back to 32 bit. Personally, I didn't notice much speed difference between 64 bit and 32 bit versions of Fedora Core 2, so I'm back to using 32 bit.

If you wish, you can contact ATI and notify them that you want 64 bit drivers (the more ppl that do this, the quicker they will come out). I know I have.

I just installed FC2 on my Athlon64 system as well. I'm still using an old Radeon AIW 9000 pro card though (couldn't afford to upgrade everything at once). Is that 3D hardware acceleration just the default drivers that your talking about, or are there some other 64-bit drivers that I could install for my 9000 pro? If so how (keeping in mind that I'm still a newbie to linux)?
