Ok, I just installed Fedora Core 2 on my Sony PCG-F610 laptop which is listed below. Whenever I turn on the computer my Linksys WPC11 v3 card (with the orinoco_cs chipset) doesn't even boot. No lights turn on. It did turn on one time but that was my very first boot and hasn't turned on since then. The OS seems to see it but claims that it's an ethernet device, not a wireless one. Please help and as quick as you can as I'm leaving for my vacation tomorrow evening and I'd like to have it up and running by then.
Thanks.

ok, so I figured out that if I do "modprobe yenta_socket" it turns on the card. This is still kind of annoying because it doesn't do it automatically but whatever. The bigger problem is that the system doesn't seem to think the card is present. Whenever I go to network configuration and try to activate the device I get an error saying "orinoco_cs device eth0 does not seem to be present, delaying initialization."
Please Help if you can.

Probably need some more info to help. Try this: reboot the computer without the card inserted. Open up a root terminal. Then, pop in card -- how many beeps do you hear and are they high or low? If you get 2 high beeps that is good.
Then, copy the output of:
lsmod
and paste it here. Also, copy and paste the output of:
ifconfig
and
iwconfig
finally, copy and paste the output of:
cardctl ident
That should give us some info to start with.
