Hi,

I'm planning to buy a Tyan Tomcat S2850, with a Opteron 146

I want to run Fc1 since i'm going to install plesk on it, which is only supported on FC1 (there have been many people trying to isntall it on fc2, but it's real hassel).
So that's why i will stay with FC1 sofar.

Second i think i'll be running it in 32bit for plesk, or do you guy's think 64bit is perfectly okee as well ?

I'm wonder if someone as a likewise situation (same mainboard perhaps, etc ?).

Main Reason why i'm asking is, how is FC1 with 64bit CPU like the Opteron 146 ?
Is FC1 to buggy with FC1 and should a use FC2 instead ?

Any help or suggestions about the subject are welcome.

also wonder if the S2850 can be used with lm_sensors in FC1.

thanks in advance!

FC1 wasn't too great 64 bit wise with my Acer Aspire laptop that has an Athlon64. FC1 was worse in its 32 bit incarnation on my laptop, which was strange.

With FC2, I'm currently using the 32 bit version on my laptop since the 64 bit version doens't have a lot of the drivers I need in a laptop. Having no idea what plesk is, you could give both versions of FC2 a shot. The reason I like FC2 over FC1 is because it includes ALSA and the latest 2.6.x kernels and xorg. But YMMV.

Make sure and give a gander at Anandtechs performance reviews, maybe that will help your decision. http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?p=83835#post83835
