Hi All,
I'm trying to print to a printer in a active directory domain.I tried using the priter wizard and it's failing, no error message i get this in the error log

[24/Sep/2004:14:31:36 +0100] Adding start banner page "none" to job 15.
I [24/Sep/2004:14:31:36 +0100] Adding end banner page "none" to job 15.
I [24/Sep/2004:14:31:36 +0100] Job 15 queued on 'trainers' by 'root'.
I [24/Sep/2004:14:31:36 +0100] Started filter /usr/lib/cups/filter/pstops (PID 31577) for job 15.
I [24/Sep/2004:14:31:36 +0100] Started filter /usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip (PID 31578) for job 15.
I [24/Sep/2004:14:31:36 +0100] Started backend /usr/lib/cups/backend/smb (PID 31579) for job 15.

still don't get my print job though. I've set the workgroup name to be my netbios domain name (i.e not X.com just X) username and pass are ok , I've now got my fileshares thanks to one of your tutorials. but still no printer.

Any pointers welcome

I have a printer defined through a Windows print server that uses AD to authenticate - I went through the adding new printer dialog, entered the info for my AD account, and it worked ok. Although, if the printer is on the network, try printing directly to the printer (jetdirect) - it's a little easier.

That's exactly what I did too but no dice. I'm running up2date and ssaw there was a new foomatic, perhaps that'll help.

You don't need any updates for this to work - I never install them.
