To those of us that experience sound delays when using KDE, I think
I found the work around.

From the KDE menu, select "Preferences->Control Center"
Click on the Search tab and type in the search string "sound".
In the "Keywords" window below, click the option "sound".
Then, in the "Results" window, click on "Sound System".

In the right hand pane, you should see an option block called
"Auto-Suspend". Make sure that the "Auto-suspend if idle" box
IS checked. Then set the delay to some very small value. Such as
1 or 2.

This made all my sound problems go away.

I don't mean to knock your intentions, but after reading the page that you want us to look for... I don't see how that could work...

jlacroix said this in the FC2 Sound Delay(started by me) Thread aswell... it shouldn't have anything to do with the delay problem... for many reasons. One reason being, my delay on that page was set to(by default) 60 seconds. The delay was only a matter of 1 second, 2 tops...

Since it may work for others, I'll help out by saying;

In the Control Center, go to Sound and Multimedia then Sound System... And that'll take you right to the page...

A tip before trying that, though, might be to change to the ALSA Sound Daemon... especially if you're using the ART Sound Daemon. It'll work for most programs(I do believe) but some(for example ZSNES) will still be a problem.

Skeptical or no, I didn't create this post to send you on a wild goose chase.
I created the above post because I had a similar problem with
sound delays (only under KDE) and this was my fix. So far, so good.

If it doesn't work for you, well, I'm sorry to hear that. But it works for me
and, hopefully, will work for others.
