In Fedora Core 3 internet drops randomly

I am dual booting Fedora Core 3/WinXP on my hp pavilion ze5470US laptop. I am able to connect to the internet (DSL through a router), but every five minutes or so the connection drops. When I boot to WinXP it works fine. What might be the problem?

I've got the same problem on my hp/compaq nx7000 laptop. I've used FC1 and there wasn't any problems with the internet/network with that version. But FC3 keeps resetting my router :( The network chip is a "Realtek RTL8139 C+ Fast Ethernet 10/100 NIC".

PS. I've done a complete update and it didn't help

I have a HP zx5000 and i don't seem to have that problem. I also have a Realtek and i'm currently using Wireless.

Well i've fixed my problem. :) Did a firmware update on my router and is all working as it should now :)
