Hi,

I have 2 computers running on my home network. I use my windows box to connect to work via VPN. Is there anyway that I can log into my works network with my Linux box through my Windows PC to avoid installing VPN on my Linux box?

Thanks

You can rdesktop to your win box from FC. What version of Linux are you running? It is possible to remote desktop from Linux to your window's box using rdesktop.

I use the Fedora "tsclient" to log into my xp box to do this very thing, use the xp box to vpn to my office.
I'd just use my linux box but the anti-virus crap they use won't recognize a linux box, only win boxen.
Duh.

what VPN client do you use on your windows machine to access your work network. as far as I know if you VPN to another network the network you are currently connected to becomes unavailable (due to it being a security risk as you are bridging to unknown networks together) this is what happens if you use Cisco VPN client. If you want to test that theory try pinging any other machine on your lan while you are connected to the VPN.

you might be able to connect to the internet because you would use the gateway on your work network or possibly IE will detect that your work network is running a proxy server and it will use that to get out but access to your LAN should be unavailable.
