FC2 file share on winxp network [Archive]

Hi everyone,

I am on a campus (windows) network, and I would like to set up my fc2 system so that I can access my files from any computer on the network. What authentication mode would I use? I am very new to linux, so any detailed instructions would be super.

Are you trying to setup both an SMB client, as well as an SMB server? In other words, are you wanting to access the central Windows server that the school has setup, as well as files/folders on your own computer? See my post in your other thread on how to access the school's central server. If you want to know how to share your own files, repost, and I'll try to help you out as much as I can. There are examples of how to configure a share in the smb.conf file.
