so i have fedora on dual-boot on my dell.

i also have a piece of crap ibook tangerine which i have absolutly no purpose for.

is there any distro in the world that would work on it?

its specs:
333mhz processor
32mb ram(can upgrade up to 1gb)
OS 8.6

well mandrake have PPC version. fedora PPC is on development, or try yellowdog PPC linux

you dont have to, disable services you dont need after installation such as SSH Daemon and etc. it's gonna be fine with your current specs

ill look into this tho, i need something to do with that machine. Though, i hoped to make it a macromedia box, but that reguires OS 9.1 or higher plus more power, which costs money. Damn 9% tuition increases(back to back years with 9%).

You don't need Mac OS with Yellow Dog. I installed it on an old Blue and White G3 a few weeks ago just fine.

There is a fedora PPC version in development.

ill try the fedora PPC, what files must i download? and will i boot the discs like I would iso on a PC?

no hurry, but i really dont know which of those files to download to run on the ibook, and whether or not i burn them to cds as i did the i386 disks

is there a faq someplace that will let me know what files to download? im ready to test the ppc as soon as i know.
