Connect to P2P and IRC behind firewall ??

Hi guys out there,

My university just installs some firewall to prevent students from downloading illegal stuff from Internet. They blocks Kazaa, Bittorrent, other P2P and IRC channel. Now I cannot connect to P2P network and IRC anymore.

Any attempt always ends in a timeout connection.


Do you guys know how to overcome this ?

Even if this was fedora related as long as the site was blocked by the root....you are out of lock. Maybe using knoppix will solve your issue. They can catch you if the it's are pretty smart.

Try port 6666 for irc. It works for most irc servers and some people aren't smart enough to block it

im having the same problem for my hostel's network and im using FC3. any info how to bypass?
