I have followed several of the guides on the internet, but I still cannot manage to get my Fujitsu Lifebook to connect to a wireless network (I am using FC3 and the ipw2200 package). I have installed the firmware for the card and I see that the card does get recognized (it is shown as a wireless card in the GUI), but I do not have the "Wireless" tab on my network configuration GUI.

The networks that I am trying to connect to are unencrypted and broadcast their SSID.

I know that I am not being very descriptive in this post. I am a newbie and don't really know which information I should post that would help. If there are logs etc. that I should include, please let me know.

Thanks

i was actually able to get it working. not sure why, but when i booted up without the network cable plugged into my LAN card, i was able to bring up the wireless card with ifup eth1 and have it acquire an ip address.
