How can I tell how much bandwidth my Fedora box is using?

...I think you may also use iptraf.
just type inside a shell as root:
# iptraf
and you'll have some info about your connections...

There's a bunch of displays for gdesklets that will tell you the bandwidth used since you reset the machine and the current bandwidth in/out
