View Full Version : going to install fedora 3 - will it find my wireless network?

what will happen if i install fedora core 3 on a computer which already has a wirless network card in it.
will it find it and install it itself or will i have to do it. if so how, i think the software is windows based.

FC3 will certainly find it, but it will probably take some manual configuration to set up. If you can find out, from your present system, or using a screwdriver, what the card is, then search this forum and also look at http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/index.php for information on how or if you can get your wireless card going.
I am typing this from a laptop using a Netgear wireless card. Later today, I am going to online banking to see if my Social Security check has been deposited. If I can do FC3, then I know you can.

thats what i thougt - the card has a linux driver anyway and my dad knows how to set it up on windows, so combining my linux knowledge with his networking / windows knowledge i hope we'll get through
