I finally got my wpc54g v2 wireless card to work a couple weeks ago with dirverloader. I tried ndiswrapper without success for weeks. I am now trying to get an alias to work so I can use this laptop at coffee shops etc. but am having trouble setting up an alias profile.

With sysconf network I select new -> wireless -> eth1(driverloader) -> mode auto -> dhcp but when I try to activate it doesn't work. Giving bad ipaddress. Also, if I edit eth1:1 it has the automaticlly opytain ip address greayed out and the staticlly set ipaddresses checked. even if i edit the ifcfg1:1 file it still stays greyed out.

Basiclly what I want to do is be able to go into my local coffee shop, which offers free wireless and connect to it''s service. A few questiions I would have is: how do you know what to set the ssid and what channel? IS there something equal to view wireless networks.
