System settings->Network>

Look for eth0 if it is active or not.

Hi, I got the same problem too, did you manage to find out what was causing eth0 to go inactive?

regards

Jari.

I've noticed that as soon as I disconnect from the internet connection and press the "quit" button on the "Connect to the Internet" console I loose my network connection. I've seen other threads to this affect, but no explanation as to why it happens. It is then suggested to reboot, log out and log in again, or to re-activate the network device in the "Control Centre.

I also found that restarting the various network related "services" in the "Control Centre" does sometimes do the trick, although you have to wait a minute or to before the network becomes active again - EXTREMELY ANOYING!!

What does

rpm -qa | grep Network

tell us?

Excuse my ignorance, I'm a bit new to the world of Linux.
Unfortunately I'm at work at present and I'm running Linux at my home network to experiment a bit and hopefully be able to install it at work.

I'll do it when I get home, or compare it to whatever someone else might have posted, and your replies therefore.

Thanx though!
