I got a waln card with the Atmel chipset, so I installed at76c503a from http://at76c503a.berlios.de/.

Everything seemed to work perfectly, but then...
I used up2date to upgrade the kernel (from 2.6.9-1.667 to 2.6.10-1.770.

When I boot fedora with the new kernel, the wlan doesn't work.

I get: device wlan0 does not seem to be present, delaying initialization.

Any help?

I'm running Fedora Core 3.

No, you just need to build a new driver module for your new kernel. Driver modules are kernel specific - you have to build a new one when you upgrade to a new kernel. Just follow the same steps as you did last time.
