Hello All,

Ive got a printer thats connected to my netgear router through a wireless printer server and has an ip address of 192.168.0.2. I can ping it from my Fedora Core 3 linux machine without any problems. However, when I go throught the printer configuration util I cant set it up correctly so I can print to it. Can you guys help me out in setting it up so I can print to it? I tried the command nmap 192.168.0.2 and its telling me that all 1663 ports scanned are closed. Could that be the problem?

Anyways, help me out please. :)

Thanks

Some printservers use UDP. try to scan it with "nmap -sU -P0" as root. Maybe the manual of the printserver can help.

You need to set the printer up as "HP JetDirect," and the printer itself must be able to support this.
