Hey all,

I'm still (aarrrggg) trying to get wireless configured. I think I am 1 step further though. I downloaded the madwifi linux drivers for my Atheros AR5001X+ card with 5212 chipset. So far so good.
I tried configuring the card through System Tools -> Internet Configuration Wizard only to stall out because the card was not under the listed hardware.

So I teird to configure at boot up. During boot up, when the system is "checking for new hardware" - Kudzu (Redhat hardware detection tool) is activated and prompts set up of newly found hardware.

- It asks to configure new hardware - where I proceed

- It detects an "Atheros Communications" peice of hardware - I proceed further

- It asks for IP configuration -> either through DHCP or manual setup

- I try both and the result is

CRASH !!!!! at "enabling swap space"

Has anyone experienced this, and does anyone have any advice?

IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

System Tool -> Internet Config Wizard picked up the card, configured DHCP during boot up and BAM!!

I'm wireless baby :D

It aint fast, but I'm on. Yaaahhhoooooo!!

I'm so happy right now.

Guess I'll go get the 16k kernel patch and screw things up again.

Kudos
