Wireless: Conection refused

I'm using a Intel 2200BG card on my laptop and i have already installed the drivers and the firmware. It detects my internet conection and it receives ping from other computers, but when i try to open any site it says that my conection was refused.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Have you tried in other browsers, such as konqueror, mozilla, epiphany or others then your normal browser? Maybe it is a browser problem.

What does ifconfig say (or /sbin/ifconfig, that is the same)? And iwconfig? Does your network uses proxies?
