New to FEDORA 3. I need help with my wireless configuration.

Hello, I need some help please. I have recently installed Fedora 3 in my lap top.
I have a toshiba satellite m35x-s149 with an atheros wireless card. I did follow all the required steps to activate the wireless network, static IP, subnet mask, and gateway.
I also inlcuded the WEP key, but when I click on activate, it shows as if the wireless gets activated, but when I try to connect to the internet the I don't get anything.
what steps am I missing?.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Do you know which wireless you have? chipset?

I have an atheros super G total 802.11
